The Pennington Family
Edward Pyor Pennington left Missouri with his wife, Amanda (Hollingsworth), and their 4 children and headed to western Oklahoma. The year was 1902, Amanda was pregnant with their next child, and they traveled by wagon. Edward's parents, Pryor and Barbara Pennington had come to Blaine Co., Oklahoma during the land rush in 1889, when Edward was not quite 17. It seems that Edward had remained in Missouri at that time, because 3 years later, in Atchison, Kansas, he married. He fathered his first 4 children near Lexington, Missouri (near the Kansas border).
