Royalty

I am an American and never gave much thought about my ancestry across the ocean when I was young. But as I've become more involved in genealogy, I have found many links to Europe. Most of them from common, ordinary people (like I consider myself), however, I have also discovered my Royal Heritage as well.
I am directly descended from numerous "Blue Bloods". Among them, are the House of Neville (the Earldom of Westmorland who were the most powerful family in England at one time), the Percy's (which were closely allied with the Neville's), the Beauchamp's (the Earldom of Warwick) and the Plantagenet's (who ruled England for over 300 years).
Obviously, somewhere along the line, my direct kinfolk came to America. I'm certainly glad they did, but I find it interesting to read about life in Europe and try to learn what caused my forefathers to want to abandon their homeland in search of a new life.
